Plifil Pavilion

Plifil Pavilion

The pavilion offers a spatial interpretation of Mexico’s linguistic diversity through the relationship between language, landscape, and earth. Although soil changes in color, texture, scent, and composition, it remains a shared material that connects territories and communities.
The program is organized around four curatorial themes. Four enclosed spaces contain an interactive map, an augmented-reality experience, audiovisual projections, and listening, recording, and music stations; four open spaces accommodate the more public components of the exhibition.
The material concept refers to the transformation of earth through water and fire. The system was designed so that its components could be reused or donated after the exhibition: timber modules can become shelves or bookcases, while the planters can be used to grow new vegetation.
