Metro Auditorio Tunnel

Metro Auditorio Tunnel

The first-prize proposal in an invited competition addressed the transformation of one of the pedestrian tunnels at Auditorio station in the Mexico City Metro system.
Because limited information was available about the existing conditions, we designed a modular, repeatable arch capable of adapting to changes in height caused by the structure and building services. Gradual transitions preserve the continuity of the element throughout the passage.
The arch incorporates RGB LED lighting to create changing light sequences and projections, turning the route into a dynamic installation. The proposal extended toward the entrances along Paseo de la Reforma and, on the Polanco side, toward Winston Churchill Garden and the connection to Andrés Bello Street.
